This is a second painting of a family meal. There is a bit of deliberate distortion–tipping the table upwards and playing with the scale of the figures–in an attempt to create a little more pictorial dynamism. The figures are also placed towards the outer edges with one looking off to the right and one looking at the viewer. This is intended to suggest that the frame does not define the 'whole of the narrative'. I've been using one of my old digital cameras to take images for the blog. I find it records the colour better. However, some detail is lost.
