Tom and the Damson Tree

Whilst I'm catching up with posts it will inevitably mean that not everything is 'of the moment'. This painting was a commission completed last year. It is essentially a garden portrait completed before some major renovations. Although this is not the final version–the dog was removed and more blossom added to the damson tree–it is pretty much 'there'. I like to paint in oils (as here) but regularly use acrylics for their speed of drying. The addition of the commissioning couples eldest son personalises the picture further and lends a little extra 'mystery' for the viewer.
